About the artist
Untitled
Vladyslav Krasnoshchok, Sergiy Lebedynskyy, and Vadym Trykoz were members of the Shilo group from 2012 to 2017. United by their interest in the history of the Kharkiv School of Photography, they worked on projects that extended local photographic practices, such as material interventions, attention to socio-political processes, and individualism. Most of their work consisted of independent projects unified by a shared aesthetic of analog monochrome documentary photography.
Their collective work, Finished Dissertation (2012), involved embedding their prints into Boros Mikhailov’s photobook Unfinished Dissertation (1984–1985). Through this act, they identified themselves as successors of the Kharkiv School of Photography tradition.
After 2017, Vadym Trykoz gradually moved away from photography. Serhii Lebedynskyi and Vlad Krasnoshchok continue to work on creative projects.
