About the artist
Set of panoramas
Viktor Kochetov and Sergiy Kochetov — father and son, who work in a creative tandem. According to Viktor Kochetov, their cooperation started when Sergiy was still a child. After finishing school Kochetov Jr. started assisting his father with his journalistic tasks, turning into a real co-author of works. Both authors have experience in photoreportage , which has shaped the base of visual language of their pieces. Their cooperation avoids imposing ideas, but rather organically synthesizing them. As Viktor and Sergiy say, Where are whose photos? This is the question we’re permanently asked. How to determine the authorship, when we have prepared a shot together, discussed the details, and camera took it with the help of timer and tripod? By turns, by lot, by pair or odd days? In our case, we have solved this issue, and for others it’s a mere curiosity. Where’re mine and where are not mine, only the closest ones know. But I don’t think it’s, to put it in a contemporary way, the public information. These are the rules of our game. Those, who want to guess, where whose photos are, sometimes hit the target, sometimes not – it’s something from the realm of game theory.”
